Jones, Calvin (2)

Calvin Jones (1810-1888) of Somerville, TN, joined the Philanthropic Society in 1827 and graduated first in his class in 1831. From 1831 to 1833 he taught at the University of Alabama, and in 1847 he became chancellor of West Tennessee. He also served in the Tennessee general assembly and on the Tennessee supreme court.
